Surreal Saturday

Today, I’m going back to one of my fave YouTubers, DeStorm.  I discovered this guy last year when he did a series of awesome a cappellas -with a chorus of himself.  I’ll post one of those next week.  Ordinarily, I’m not a lover of rap but he makes it fun.

In this video, he shows you how to solve Rubik’s cube, that ubiquitous puzzle from that 80’s.  Some people could solve it in a flash. I was never one of those people.  So, grab your cube (you know you have one), sit back, and work the magic as DeStorm raps it out for you in 2 minutes flat.  Seriously.

  1. Great vid! Maybe the vidder can solve the problem of why I’m not getting notifications of new posts on your blog. 😉

    • Yeah, I almost followed it. Gotta find that damn cube.

Please try subscribing again. I hope things are finally fixed. Sigh.

      • I am getting the notifications for new comments on this blog. I’ll have to wait and see if your next post triggers an e-mail. 🙂

          • Oops, nope. I didn’t receive a notification so I unsubscribed and re-subscribed again. 🙂 Wish me luck! If it doesn’t work this time, I’ll have to remember to check my Google Reader account regularly because that keeps me up-to-date with blogs I follow.

  2. Cool, cool video. I wonder if my son has seen it. He can solve it in 34 seconds. I’ll bet DeStorm can solve it in that time or less when he’s not instructing.

    • 34 seconds??!! You should video that and post it! Guess I don’t have that eye-hand coordination. I’m pretty sure DeStorm can do it much faster.

      • I’m sure DeStorm can do it in under 30 seconds. Maybe closer to 20 or much, much less.

I’ve begged my son to let me tape him and also his best friend, who does it in about 36 seconds, but my son is adamantly against it. He thinks it’s no big deal, since the world record is under 10 seconds. BTW, his best friend’s little sister can do it even faster than the two of them, but then she is a mathematical genius. Seriously, the kid is unreal, and I’ve even watched her solve it with her eyes closed. I am not kidding. If I ever get my son to let me tape the three of them, I will certainly let all of you know, and probably a few thousand other people. LOL!

  3. This guy is great! Does he solve all the problems to music? I am going to check out his channel. Music is the answer! 🙂

    • He’s an innovative rapper who likes rapping out challenges. People suggest things in his comments and he actually sings them. He’s got quite the creative mind.
