Interlude XVII – Ricky

I’m not a fan of Ricky Deeming but I know some of you are.  But I spotted this seaside screencap, and I kind of like it, in a matinee idol sort of way.  Had he been dressed in a white billowing shirt and britches with a saber in his hand, I would have been totally for him.  Can’t you see him as Captain Blood?

  1. Hi Judiang,
    Excellent choice!  Ricky Deeming as an RA character portrayal may be “mad, bad, and dangerous to know”, but Lord, please give me danger.  Ha!
    Cheers!   Grati  ;->

  2. Leathered up Ricki gets me rathered lathered up in my imagination. I especially love Ricki for his social reflexivity. A glimpse of a great, complicated character, I thought.

    I CAN see him as Captain Blood (the Guy 3 hair would have worked well) or as a WWI fighter pilot (he already has the scarf!).

    Thank you Judi.

    • Yeah, that’s nothing like black leather to get a girl going…

      I would love to see RA do a swashbuckler, but I guess TPTB would think he’s too old now.

      Glad you enjoyed it.  🙂

  3. I watched all the clips from Youtube but I just finally treated myself to the DVD.  It was a very good episode.  I did appreciate Ricky Dee’s antiestablishment views even if he was a bit paranoid about it.  He definitely wasn’t a cardboard character the way RA played him.  I wanted to know his backstory and what happened to him after that episode ended.  For instance, that maniac bad guy had better not have burnt him or singed a single hair on his head — or he’ll wish that George Gently had finished him off, when he feels the wrath of Phylly!
