  3. You may have a future as a historical document forger. Have you ever thought about it? There were a lot of people who did it in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, and then again after the advent of historicism in later nineteenth-century Europe. Maybe it’s time for a (cough) Renaissance!

  5. Servetus, now that is a good thought. Efforts at art forgery have so far been disappointing. Documant forgery just might be more remunerative. And all those lovely medieval rumours! Scandals! They would work nicely into forged docs.

  6. Hmmmm – maybe Harry should have been more careful of Lucas. I miss the Lucas that “might have been”.

  9. Fitzg, we’re getting spoiled with multiple posts from you this week! This memo seems like the kind of things that Dolby would have done. It fits in perfectly with Spooks.

    It’s a wonder the Spooks writers just didn’t name Lucas’ evil twin John Profumo rather than John Bateman.  But I guess that would have been drudging up England’s real past.

    Dolby was one of those characters we love to hate! Gratiana, maybe they should just have called Sarah Christine or Mandy?
