So, still distracted by other activities, so have another picture on me. I particularly like this one. Something about the eyes and guyliner. Discuss.
I’m trying to figure our how I possibly missed seeing this picture after all these years. Never laid eyes on it until today. It’s like two FAN !FAILS in one. And Billie Piper got to be the filling in that lovely man sandwich. Looks like RA beat DT to the half-embrace but Billie doesn’t like fazed at all. Just sayin’.
EDIT: An eagle eyed fan explained the picture is probably photoshopped. Well, mystery is solved then! So, intact fangirl status 2, eyesight: 0.
While RichardArmitageNet.com and RichardArmitageCentral slave away archiving the monsoon of ComicCon photos, I was amused by this one from the Warner Bros’ site. Go there now. There are gorgeous hi-resolutions shots from the autograph signing offered for downloading.
Here RA is standing before one of the official Hobbit 3D posters of himself as Thorin. I wonder what he’s thinking. It must be a bit surreal for him to come from being immersed in a closed film world for a year and a half to this blitz. I hear he said they still had some shots left to complete (this year? next year?), so he may not be able to exit the Hobbit universe just yet. But when everything is finished, will he finally allow himself to contemplate the enormity of the project and the impact on his life or not? Not being a Tolkien fan, I have no clue how the LotR cast handled it.
Your intrepid reporter moved from her armchair and headed in 200% humidity to The Taste. It’s decimation is a sad affair. I returned to see the chat is still going strong. Join us!
I have a confession to make. Despite the fact that RA still obscures his face with that pelt, I finally saw a beardy picture….yes, have to say it… that I actually APPROVE. Servetus just had to show me. The beard horde is seriously gloating in the chat room. Sigh. The picture is courtesy of GeeksofDoom.com
I’m still chewing on my reaction to RA at ComicCon. This picture almost makes me want to be sweet. Yes, I think the weather has gotten to me. Must have a lie down.
The Hobbit panel has finally started. @CruisingCathy and @Arwen on Twitter are live blogging. They are showing a “Making of” of the production and the last few days of shooting. I’m thinking DVD extras, don’t you?
The dwarves are getting introduced. Sir Ian gets a huge ovation. Sir Peter walks out filming the audience saying hi from ComicCon.
Tweets are a bit sparse or delayed. No matter. I’m sure we’re all dying to see the footage in living color.
Wait, just realized I’ve forgotten to blog in snark. What I *meant* to say was “these live-bloggers really s– .” Oh, Arwen just tweets, “Fantastic footage of the movie has been shown. More details later.” 12 1/2 minutes of new footage had been shown including first looks at Tauriel and Radagast, and the beginning of Riddles in the Dark.
Phillipa talks about bringing back Cate Blanchett as Galadriel to, you know, inject some estrogen into the movie.
Wow, I think RA might successfully NOT speak! But can he get away with it???
OMG! He speaks!! “We went through quite an evolution for the look of Thorin. Working with a prosthetic like that is quite a challenge. By Day 1, I didn’t think I would make it 2 or 3 weeks… by the end, I couldn’t work without it.” “Managing the heat and ‘sweaty dwarf’ was a challenge itself.”
Fine, so he actually spoke. But will more fans make him… speak AGAIN???
Surprise guest Elijah Wood says he was blown away by the new footage.
Sir Peter goes on about shooting and shooting and the ups and downs of filming.
Andy Serkis talks about starting out as Gollum and ending as an assistant director. Yes, he does The Voice.
And that’s it folks! RA successfully spoke only once. I think his maddening reputation as a retiring, unassuming, quiet bloke remains intact. Suddenly the Pointer Sisters’ “He’s So Shy” plays in my head. Sigh.

Keep a look out for release of any video tomorrow.
Media is flying fast and furious. Fans are assisting your armchair reporter in chat to bring you latest in a semi-coherent fashion. While TORN sets up to interview RA and Martin Freeman, be sure to stay tuned for the Hobbit panel in the infamous Hall H in a few hours. RAFrenzy and HeathRA are there working behind the scenes. Recent tweets report they are properly situated in the line for Hall H and will be able to get in.
Oh wait, RA was just interviewed. Unfortunately I could not get the TORN video, but some chatters did. He was dressed in a black buttoned shirt over black T-shirt – very goth one said. Oh, and a necklace. Basically he talked about reading the books when he was 8 and going back to it when he was 40 and how Tolkien created legends, not myths. He also mentioned the cast party “… when they party, they party hard.”
While I have a few words with my tech feed, enjoy some pics courtesy of WBpictures and TORN
Hello Dear Reader. I’ve been fighting with Winston, still, this past week. Right now, he’s run off with his tail between his legs. So, I’m seizing this window of opportunity to post Serene Sunday. It just so happens I got a request while chatting in ArmitageWorld last night. The chatter loves Johnny Mathis’s smooth lush vocals and requested a specific song. Said she, “Of course, I think of the words as they pertain to RA!” So, this is for you (you know who you are).
Here is Johnny Mathis singing “Chances Are.” According to good ole Wikipedia, “It was listed on Billboard‘s “Most Played by Jockeys” survey for Johnny Mathis, charting in 1957, and was inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 1998. The song reached No. 4 on Billboard‘s Best Sellers in Stores survey, along with its flip “The Twelfth of Never.”
Here are some lovely pics to make your day serene indeed. Enjoy everybody.

Mind is still sipping margaritas instead of panicking that Christmas shopping hasn’t even started. Can’t seem to budge her. Anyway, back to the RA Bag of Goodies we go. Here is one I’ve used several times and will again because it’s my blog. Enjoy.
My mind is recovering from the trauma of Mexico, having gained freedom over the weekend. It won’t do anything but watch Carmen Miranda movies on loop and mutter “no hablo Espanol.” This is not good. So I’m once again dipping into the RA Bag of Goodies all week. Here is a photo from the Cold Feed photo shoot that gets little play. I like the sexy white shirt and come hither look, befitting the scoundrel, Lee. Enjoy.
My brain sent a telegraph. It was pretty much illegible except for the words “arrest,” “bail,” and “money.” I think my weekend will be busy. Dipping into the bag of goodies again, here is a photo that doesn’t get much play. Enjoy.
My mind phoned to say it was going on the Appalachian Trail. I may have to intervene. In the meantime, here is another from the Richard Armitage Bag of Goodies. Enjoy.
For those of you out braving the Black Friday insanity, more power to ya! Meanwhile, I shall be sanely indoors playing elf for my hosts, helping them decorate four trees and a sweeping staircase. Yes, it’s my own brand of Christmas madness.
In the meantime, I’ll kick off the holiday celebrations by giving you what you really come here for:
Have a great day!
Well look, it’s Friday again! Time for another Foolish Friday. Today, darling, gimme head with HAIR. Yes, class we will study the many hairstyles of a certain Mr. Richard Armitage. Let’s start.
Here’s a young RA during his dancing days I presume. This is a nice example of the long carefree style of youth.
Next we have a much shorter older cut helped along with a lot of mousse, to go with the vague goatee.
Finally, a picture in color! Here RA with the au naturel medium brown hair. We see the beginning of the characteristic locks brushing forehead style seen in later photos.
Here we see the style for which he’s known, dyed dark brown, cut medium short with a high left part.
And of course we must study the long, almost black tresses, courtesy of extensions. Notice that they are reminiscent of the long locks of his dancer days, except much, much much better. Mmmhmm. I’m sorry, where were we?
Now we have him minus the extension but retaining the floppy locks, strategically placed just so. Kudos to his hairdresser. Seriously. He’s kept either a long or shorter version of this style.
Okay class. Lest I be accused of bias, I’m including a photo of the current au naturel colored buzz cut, which is brushed quite well here, I must admit.
That’s enough for today class. Have a happy TGIF.
Sorry I’m late, class but have no fear, a beastly headache can’t keep a good objectification down. Today’s subject: lips. As you may well imagine, selecting photos was a daunting task. Since I actually couldn’t choose, I went with some of the lesser used ones to spread the love more fairly. Let’s get started.
Here we have an early publicity photo of Richard Armitage as Lee from Cold Feet. As you can see RA has thin lips, with the top more so than the bottom. Yet there is still shape to the top one. Are you looking carefully class? Class? Well, let’s move on to a better pic.
Here is RA in a publicity show as himself. Here we can see a definite bow shape to the top lip.
Here is RA in his main publicity photo with a faint quirk of a smile. We see the curve of the upper lip, which highlights the bottom lip and makes it seem fuller than it actually is. Except for the amateur photoshopping, this is a fantastic shot.
Let’s observe the lips “en smile.” Here we have a candid/publicity shot with DJ Scott Mills. The lips do stretch and thin out to reveal an awesome dental job. Marvelous work.

This final pic has so many things going for it, but let’s check out those lips. The relaxed position of the mouth really accentuates the bow of the top lip and makes the bottom slightly pouty. This proves that thin lips does not necessarily mean not shapely.
That’s it for this Friday. I’m heading back to bed. Enjoy the pics and have a great TGIF.
It’s Foolish Friday again and I’m back with the best objectification the internet has to offer. Today we study what a casting director remarked upon: the perfect six pack. It seemed a nice extension of last week’s pec lecture. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Here is an example. Lee does sport some fine abs but they aren’t as lean as in later years.
Let’s give those abs a little more… exposure.
Guy illustrates beefier but still leans abs. Notice how concave they are in this picture. Yes class, you’ve seen it before, it’s one of my favorites. It shows off a dancer’s physique.

Can we really get tired of this photo? Seriously? Here you clearly see the muscle definition. Yup, I count six.

Last week a student asked: but what of John Porter? Alas, I was remiss again. He looks nice too. Here is a close up of the abs. Here you can see a bit of the six pack from this angle. Perhaps we’re too close.
Here is a better angle. John Porter is beefier and the delineation in muscle is not quite as defined. I would still say Guy rates a 10 because of this.
Well, this should get your Friday off to a good start. Have a great weekend.
Since you all liked last week’s objectifying Foolish Friday with Richard Armitage, I’ve decided to extend the fun (or outrage as your case may be). This week: shoulders. Not the obvious frontal but the width and breadth from the back. Let’s find some examples for our study.
Here’s Guy looking quite capable with Marion. I love the way the light and shadows play across his shoulders, emphasizing them. The belt also accentuates his narrow waist.
Guy’s shoulders dominate this scene. That’s all him. I do love a man with broad shoulders, scientifically speaking of course. Don’t you?
"Marion, what do mean I need to bathe first? I washed when I was made knight!" Courtesy RichardArmitageNet.com
But wait, other chaRActers caught my eye. Let’s take a look at John Porter’s shoulders. Hmm, the shirt could stand being a bit tighter. We can’t accurately assess the underlying musculature. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Let’s try another picture of John Porter. Ahhh, much much better. Much.
Oops, don’t know how this got in here – Erm, well you can see his shoulders if you imagine hard. Sort of.
This photo of RA at the2010 BAFTAs also highlights the shoulders. Again, note the trim waist.

Anyway, Frenzy teased us with this pic of Lucas teasing us in a winter coat. This picture proves that even completely covered, broad shoulders are very masculine and sexy.
Well, Dear Reader, what did we learn from our study? Well, we learned that the width and breadth of this man’s shoulders are quite impressive. I’m sure we’ve learned other things too but I need to find a fan.
Enjoy your weekend.
